What you will need
To be able to complete My Four Wheels Online you will need:
Internet connection – 2MBPS wifi or 3G is adequate.
The latest version of your device’s Operating System and browser – this should be updated free of charge from your service providers. Check yours here:
A PDF reader. Adobe Reader is excellent – and is free. Get the latest version here.
A printer – the brilliant HP deskjet range is available from Tesco for £24.99 (you will need a printer for life as an ADI)
Paper and ink – Tesco offer the HP ink at just £7-10 and a ream of paper for just £2.50. Setting your printer to ‘draft’ or ‘rough’ will avoid wasting ink.
During your course, you will print approx 500 sheets (one ream of paper – £2.50).
You will be required to submit the My Four Wheels Online work to us. The deskjet printer above has a scanner. To scan and email is free and fairly easy to do. To post your work, will cost approx £10 in postage (using standard second class post which is more than adequate).
We don’t provide printed workbooks for a number of reasons:
1. The Cost – printing and posting workbooks would add another £150 to your course – it is better value to print them yourself. If you have a printer, in total you will spend approx £25 printing and sending work to us (if not it will cost £24.99 for a printer – which you will need as an ADI anyway) – that saves you £100.
2. Content kept up-to-date. Having the work online means we can instantly change or amend – and there are always changes and updates to add. A printed book means as soon as they are printed they are out of date.
3. You can make duplicates of pages for notes are repeat an module over and over.
4. Most importantly, rather than just answer a multiple choice question, you are required to physically write your own notes. This gives a much greater chance of remembering what you have been working on and a greater chance of success in the tests- we want you to pass!
All the units, sections and modules are in a ‘step-by-step’ format, so as long as you can read, you can complete the course with ease. Just follow the instructions.
Time with our Specialist trainers
*You may have spotted asterisks above. You have purchased our My Four Wheels Online online, digital integrated product and if you meet our course terms and conditions, we will provide up-to 64 hours of face-to-face training with one of our Specialist Trainers at no extra cost.
To maximise your chances of success (and to also validate our course guarantees), we want you to complete and submit your course work and achieve certain targets within certain time-frames. We know from our many, many years of experience in this industry that taking longer than an ‘academic year’ of 9 months will diminish your chances of success, so:
1. You must submit the My Four Wheels Online Theory work before you go to the test and within 4 months of starting your course. You must pass the Part 1 test within 5 months of starting your course..
2. Within 6 months of starting your course, you must submit all of of your My Four Wheels Online driving work to us before we will deliver any practical training.
Without this, we cannot be certain of your readiness for the modules we will cover in the face-face sessions nor your ability for the test. If you do not submit your course work in full and in the above time frames, you will not entitled to any face-face-training free of charge, as per your course terms.
We want to be certain of your success and pass your tests!
